The Guardian: Review

Thomas's treatment of Ed Leary's Alzheimer's is extraordinary. It seems to come upon the reader with the same slow realisation as it comes upon his wife and son. The novel's account of this illness and its terrible progress through a life is unsparing, but never cold or removed. Read the full review.
